Position Description: We are looking for a part-time, live-out Nanny to provide loving, child-focused, and play-centered childcare for our two children in Detroit. Noah is a caring, curious, and happy 2.5 year-old, and Noah’s little sibling will be arriving in February 2025. Duties and Responsibilities - Provides childcare for two children (one toddler and one infant) in the family’s home. Please note: the mother will be on maternity leave at the time the Nanny begins work so the Nanny would be responsible for caring for one or both of the children. When the mother goes back to work, the Nanny would care for both children. - Administers one-on-one care and meets the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of both children. - Contributes to a loving, safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which the children may thrive and develop. - Supports children in problem solving as well as learning and processing emotions, feelings, etc. by honoring the humanity of both children. - Creates experiential activities and learning opportunities for children as needed. - Prepares children’s meals and feeds them, including bottle feeding for one baby. Snacks, meals, and bottles will be provided which the Nanny will serve and supervise. The Nanny is welcomed to eat snacks and meals they bring from home with the children. - Changes diapers for the baby and has experience with supporting a toddler who is actively potty training. - Dresses and changes children as needed, and provides baths for children as needed. - Facilitates nap times for both children. The Nanny will be encouraged to take breaks and rest during nap times. - Assists in tidying up play areas and children’s rooms, as well as the kitchen area after meals and bottles. - Drives children to and from activities in the Nanny’s or family’s vehicle as needed (such as going to the park, story time at the library, etc). - Collaborates with parents to ensure children’s growth and development. Qualifications and Requirements - Previous experience as a Nanny for babies and toddlers - Excellent understanding of child development in different age stages - CPR and First Aid certification for babies and children - Driver’s license - Up-to-date on vaccines - Comfortable with both parents working in the home at times due to hybrid work modalities. - Care of dogs is not needed but comfort around the family’s 2 dogs is required. Please note: the dogs will be separate from children.
