About this nanny job

We are seeking care for our three year-old foster son, Gus. Gus is a very cuddly boy who loves to laugh, look at books, and be outside. We have been the foster parents for Gus and his sister since September. While his sister has secured childcare, Gus did not mesh well with a previous daycare provider because of the individualized attention he needs during the day. Gus is autistic and non-speaking, which can contribute to some disruptive behaviors for other kids in daycare. He is in speech therapy and will be attending a special early learning center for three hours Monday- Thursday starting in January. Transportation is provided by the school district. He does very well when at home with his foster dad, but soon dad is starting a seasonal position that will prevent him from staying home with Gus. We would want to give Gus ample time to adjust to any new people he’d be spending his days with. He warms up, and has already formed attachments to several in our family, but we would want to make sure we aren’t setting the provider up for failure either.
