About this nanny job
South Evanston family seeking a part time nanny for our two children, aged 8 years old and 10 years old. Care needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Responsibilities include school drop off and pick up. The kids attend a local school a short drive (5 minutes) or a modest walk (15 minutes) from our home. Typical morning schedule would include 6:45 am arrival at our home, preparing breakfast for the kids, packing up lunches and backpacks with the kids, then walking or driving them to school for 8:50 am drop off time. Typical afternoon schedule involves school pick up at 3:30 pm, then waking them either to activities or home, depending on the day. Afternoon schedule ends when we return from work at 6:00-6:15 pm. Responsibilities include driving the kids to after school activities. Typical hours are 6:45 am - 9:00 am and 3:30 pm - 6:15 pm, for a total of 5 hours per day. Care is needed Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, for a total of 20 hours guaranteed weekly. Pay is weekly. Take home pay is $24 / hour. Social security and medicare taxes are paid by family. Paid vacation and sick leave provided. Additional hours may be available (date nights, etc), always with the prior agreement of the nanny. Flexibility and ability to increase hours in the event of school days off is preferred. The ideal candidate is CPR/first certified (or willing to get certified at the family's expense, family will pay for course and nanny's time to complete certification), experienced with elementary age children, very responsible/punctual. Must have own transportation. Street parking is available on our street. We would ideally like to work with someone who is available for at least a year.
